The Academy of Sociology operates a moderated mailing list (as@listserv.dfn.de), through which subscribers can send information regarding:

• Calls (for conference papers, conferences, etc.)
• Job Openings (Please group multiple listings together)
• Latest Announcements & Reports

The mailing list currently has about 1,000 subscribers. It is open to both members and non-members of the Academy of Sociology.

If you would like to subscribe to the mailing list:

Please send an email to sympa@listserv.dfn.de and enter the following in the subject line: subscribe as@listserv.dfn.de First Name Last Name (For example, Max Weber would have subscribed as follows: subscribe as@listserv.dfn.de Max Weber). Leave the message body blank. Then reply to a confirmation email to verify your identity. You will then receive all messages that other subscribers send via the mailing list.

To send a message (German/English) via the mailing list:

We would appreciate it if you would share relevant information via the mailing list. Simply send the email you wish to distribute, without any additional comments, to as@listserv.dfn.de. Once approved by a moderator, we will send out the exact same email with the suffix “[AS]” to identify all AS messages. Be sure to include an informative subject line; for example, “PhD Position in Quantitative Methods, LMU Munich.” You may include attachments (max. 1 MB). Please note the following guidelines:

• Please group related content into a single email
• No advertising for publications
• No reminder emails containing repeated information (e.g., extended deadlines)
• No advertising for (ad hoc) conference sessions without an explicit connection to the AS

To unsubscribe from the mailing list:

Send an email to sympa@listserv.dfn.de and enter the following in the subject line: unsubscribe as@listserv.dfn.de. Leave the message body blank. Make sure you send the email from the address you used to subscribe to the mailing list.
